AFSCME Local 3299 is a progressive, democratic, and member run labor union that represents 20,000 service and patient care workers at all ten of the University of California campuses and five medical centers through out the state. DUTIES: This position is responsible for the development and implementation of 3299’s organizing plan at the University of California Campus. The lead organizer will conduct a wide array of organizing activities, including leadership identification and recruitment, training members and staff, running elections, strategic planning, and running multiple comprehensive organizing campaigns. • Working with Executive Board Members, Member Action Team Leaders, and Staff Organizers, develops and implements campus plan reflective of the 3299 model and in keeping with union’s statewide strategy REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma and 3-5 years experience leading organizing campaigns; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Fluent bilingual skills are desirable, but not necessary.
