Burst Boehner's Bubble

October 02, 2009

Yesterday, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he hasn’t met an American who supports the public option. Here’s Boehner in his own words:

“I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who’s in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or a member of the administration. I’ve not talked one and I get to a lot of places. I’ve not had anyone come up to me — I know I’m inviting them — and lobby for the public option. This is about as unpopular as a garlic milkshake.”

Even though the vast majority of Americans (77%) support the public option, Boehner says he hasn’t met a single one. As Politico reporter Glenn Thrush wrote, John Boehner “has just more or less dared proponents of a public option to bombard his office with their expressions of support of the plan.”

Take Boehner's challenge and help burst whatever bubble he and the GOP leadership are living in. Call Rep. Boehner now and tell him you’re one of the 77% of Americans who do support a public option, and it’s time for the Republicans to stop blocking real health care reform. Just enter your phone number and we'll connect you directly.
