The Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA/AFSCME Local 152) recently launched a media campaign to build public awareness of the vital public services that HGEA members do. It highlights the critical roles that HGEA members play in the community and shows how they are everyday people who care for their families, support their neighborhoods and give back through volunteer work and community service.
The media campaign features two HGEA members on the job in TV commercials: registered professional nurse Barbara Larrabee Duarte and plant quarantine inspector Glenn Sakamoto.
The campaign will also include mall sign ads to appear at shopping centers throughout Hawaii.
