On the Road to Reform

August 14, 2009

Well, it’s begun. On Wednesday, AFSCME’s Highway to Health Care Reform tour officially launched in Bismarck, ND after making a couple pit stops in Montana.

Stop after stop, people want to know what health care reform means for average people like them. The answer is simple, it means a lot.  It means putting middle class Americans before the insurance companies. It means lowering health care costs.  And it means ending discrimination against Americans with pre-existing conditions.

The reception has been great so far. Over a hundred folks stopped by the RV in Montana to e-mail their members of Congress. Over 100 locals in Fargo, ND, turned out for a rally. And we’re just getting started – check out our map to see the rest of our stops.

The best way to follow the tour is on AFSCME’s Facebook page. We’re constantly posting updates, links and videos from the road. Consider it your all-access pass to heath care reform. In fact, share this link with your Facebook friends to get them on board as well.

See you on the road to reform.
