Out of Touch

October 09, 2009

You know Congressional Republicans are out-of-touch with the American people on health insurance reform when even former Republican Senate Majority Leader and GOP nominee for President Bob Dole says so, notes a new web video released today by Americans United for Change. Called "Earth to Republicans," it spotlights Dole's comments this week that: "This is one of the most important measures members of Congress will vote on in their lifetimes.  If we don't do it this year I don't know when we're gonna do it…I want this to pass…I don't want the Republicans putting up a 'no' sign and saying, 'we're not open for business."

Dole joins a growing number of prominent Republicans publicly expressing support for health insurance reform, including Bill Frist, another former Republican Senate Majority Leader, who said last week, if he were still in the Senate, 'I would end up voting for it.'
