Small Businesses Join AFSCME Ohio in Opposition to SB 5

March 22, 2011

Proud Ohio WorkersAs part of an ongoing effort to build the alliance of Ohioans opposing the bill that would strip public service workers of their bargaining rights, AFSCME members are holding a series of eight press events around the state in conjunction with a group of small businesses who are part of Proud Ohio Workers. These businesses understand the huge impact that public employees have on local economies.

The first of these events was held in Youngstown on Monday outside of Our Family Restaurant where three quarters of the customers work at the Board of Education next door. While AFSCME members were on site, they signed up the Dejá Vu Men's Consignment Store next door to join the cause as well.

The large and growing list of small businesses who are standing in solidarity with Ohio workers is available at the Proud Ohio Workers website.
