SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER – Hundreds of AFSCME activists and community members gathered to protest a secretive anti-worker meeting in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

If you haven’t heard of the Koch brothers before, it’s for a good reason.

Billionaire siblings Charles and David Koch like to stay out of the spotlight, even if they are the big buck financiers of numerous “tea party”-linked organizations as well as hard-right and anti-worker outfits like the grossly misnamed FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity.

But AFSCME activists are wise to them and their tactics. That's why members of United Domestic Workers (UDW)/AFSCME recently joined 1,500 people to protest a secret meeting organized by the Koch brothers in Rancho Mirage, Calif. The invitation-only conclave gathered some 200 right-wing millionaires and elected officials who share their corporate agenda, including House Republican Leader Eric Cantor.

AFSCME will continue to stand up to the Koch brothers and their allies’ destructive agenda.
