Walker Endorses Romney-Ryan Agenda at the RNC, while Wisconsin Workers Push Back

Gov. Scott Walker

The Republican National Committee last night rewarded Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker for his efforts last year to strip Wisconsin workers of their rights and silence their voices in the workplace. Walker got a primetime speaking role and delivered a full-throated endorsement of the anti-worker policies of the Romney-Ryan ticket and a defense of his own attacks on workers:

“On June 5th, voters in Wisconsin got to determine who was in charge – was it the big government special interests in Washington… or the hard-working tax payers of our state. The good news is that – on June 5th – the hard-working taxpayers won.”

(The governor conveniently ignored that he was the recipient of more out-of-state special interest money than anyone anywhere this year and he glossed over his efforts to strip Wisconsin workers of their rights.)

With his eager endorsement of the Romney/Ryan ticket, Walker instead told us again what we already knew: like Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney, he supports raising taxes on the middle class and stripping workers’ rights while ending Medicare as we know it and giving away huge tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.

The Republican National Committee and Governor Walker’s billionaire donors can give him the largest megaphone money can buy so he can promote his anti-worker policies, but the hard-working men and women of Wisconsin truly mean it when they say, “We Are Wisconsin.”
