Wisconsin Republicans Not Welcome In the Nation’s Capital

Watch as hundreds of union members and other workers give Wisconsin’s Republican state legislators a special welcome to Washington, DC. The lawmakers visited the nation’s capital to attend a $1,000 a head fundraiser organized by the BGR Group, a conservative lobbying firm founded by Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R).

Now that the Republican Wisconsin legislators have stripped collective bargaining rights from public service workers in their state, they are passing the collection plate among the corporate backers who give them their marching orders.

The massive protests to repudiate their actions in Wisconsin have generated a nationwide movement for workers' rights, as evidenced yesterday when hundreds of protesters filled the atrium of the Washington, DC building in which the fundraiser took place.
