Eau Claire and La Crosse, Wisc. (July 12, 2007)

On July 12, 2007, Mary Von Ruden, AFSCME Council 41 executive board member, and Jerry LaPoint, president of AFSCME’s Wisconsin retirees headlined press conferences in La Crosse and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, respectively. Von Ruden, LaPoint and other community leaders released a report compiled by the U.S.Action Education Fund showing that state taxpayers are subsidizing the insurance industry to the tune of $215 million a year.

They also called on members of Wisconsin’s congressional delegation to reign in this insurance industry boondoggle. Click on the links below to learn more.
