Over 700 AFSCME leaders and activists attended the Legislative Conference held in Washington, D.C. on May 11-14, 2009. Attendees heard firsthand from national leaders about the issues important to AFSCME members, particularly the economic crisis, health care reform and the Employee Free Choice Act. Members participated in discussions about these and other issues with fellow AFSCME leaders and activists. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to become involved in the process of lobbying federal lawmakers for a real change during our lobbying day on Capitol Hill.
