AFSCME Leadership Conference

Date:Mon, Jun 18, 2007 - Wed, Jun 20, 2007
Time:12:00 AM
Location:
Marriott Wardman Park Hotel
2660 Woodley Rd. NW
Washington, DC
Event Type: Conferences & Trainings
Description:

More than 2,000 leaders and activists are expected to attend AFSCME's first Leadership Conference.

The conference will combine the agendas and goals of the biennial Legislative Conference and the 2007 Women's Conferences. Like our legislative conferences, the Leadership Conference will identify federal priorities and press for congressional action. In light of our victories in November, we now have a much more ambitious agenda. And, like our Women's Conferences, the emphasis will be on leadership and activism.

The participants of the Leadership Conference will help develop a roadmap that will bring us success in the Presidential election in November 2008. The decisions and recommendations of this meeting will move us toward reaching one of the adopted goals of the 21st Century Committee Report — establishing a base of 40,000 AFSCME activists by Election Day in 2008. In order to reach that goal, we must start now.
