AFSCME Radio Ad in Support of the Employee Free Choice Act

Listen to the ad (:60)

Transcript:

There aren’t too many people old enough to remember what it was like before there were unions.

No minimum wage.

No overtime.

Unsafe working conditions.

Who would want to go back to that?

Unfortunately, some corporations try every day to prevent workers from exercising their legal right to join a union.

No one should be stopped from joining a union if they want one.

Union members earn higher wages and work in better conditions. Unions helped build America’s middle class.

Soon, the U.S. Senate will decide whether to make it harder for corporate executives to stop workers from joining a union.

It’s called the Employee Free Choice Act.  You can help: go to afscme.org.  That’s a-f-s-c-m-e dot org to tell your senators to support the Employee Free Choice Act.

Because even if you’re not in a union, we all benefit from a strong labor movement that lifts wages.

Paid for by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
