AFSCME Council 31 is sponsoring a "March on the Capitol!" in Springfield on Wednesday, November 19. There will be a rally at Illinois AFL-CIO, 534 S. Second Street, Springfield at 2:30 followed by a march to the Capitol, a few blocks away. The intent is to let Governor Blagojevich know that residents of Pontiac say "no!" to closing the Correctional Center. A free bus will leave from Pontiac -- to reserve a seat, call Sen. Dan Rutherford's Office at 815-842-3632, Pontiac City Hall at 815-844-3396, Pontiac Chamber of Commerce at 815-844-5131, or AFSCME Local 494 at 815-844-7188. Buses leave the Pontiac Rec-Plex, 2104 Old Airport Road, Pontiac at 11:30 AM. |
