Next Wave Conference 2009
 AFSCME held the first national Next Wave conference for local and council activists on June 19-21, 2009 in Chicago, IL. Designed especially for young activists, age 35 and under, some sessions were offered for “older and wiser” activists and leaders who are playing a role in mentoring new and young activists.
The Next Wave Hits Chicago AFSCME’s young members recently gathered in Chicago for the first Next Wave Conference – three days of activism, strategizing and learning about the labor movement.
