Local AFSCME Retirees to Hold Election, GOTV Forum
Betty Castor, Rep. Jim Davis (D-FL) to discuss key issues with 200 area retirees
More than 200 area retirees will convene on Monday, October 18, to discuss key election issues with Rep. Jim Davis (D-FL), U.S. Senate candidate Betty Castor, and American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO, President Gerald W. McEntee. The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM at the Hilton St. Petersburg, 331 First Street South.
The forum is designed to educate local retirees about their rights as voters, and encourage active participation in AFSCME’s unprecedented get-out-the-vote campaign. Issues to be discussed include Social Security, Medicare, and the new prescription drug law.
