Local Laborers Hold GOTV Rally, Canvass Neighborhoods on Oct. 24 Rep. Earl Blumenauer to address over 200 AFSCME, ILWU members
More than 200 area American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) members hold a get-out-the-vote rally on Sunday, October 24. AFSCME President Gerald W. McEntee, Rep. Earl Blumenauer, and ILWU Secretary-Treasurer Willie Adams will address the rally, which will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the ILWU Hall Local 8, 2435 N.W. Front Ave.
After the rally, President McEntee will join rally participants in canvassing nearby neighborhoods just as AFSCME's 21,000 Oregon members are casting their ballots. Members of the media are invited to follow McEntee and canvassers as they discuss the election with local residents.
