The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO, will hold its largest convention ever with more than 30,000 members watching Democratic Presidential Senator John Kerry address the union on Thursday, June 24, in Anaheim, California. Former President Bill Clinton is expected to speak to delegates around noon on Friday, June 25. Rev. Jess Jackson will address the group at 10 a.m.
More than 5,000 delegates, alternates and guests will meet at the Anaheim Convention Center June 21-25. Under the auspices of the AFL-CIO, more than 30,000 members will join the biggest ever-nationwide union "meeting" to watch Senator Kerry’s address live via satellite and webcast on June 24. Union members in 18 cities in battleground states will hold events with special guests to hear directly from the Senator about his plans to take back America for working families.
