Political Strategist Donna Brazile to Address AFSCME Convention on June 22

AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer to Address Convention in Morning

ANAHEIM, CA — 

Former Gore 2000 Campaign Manager and political strategist Donna Brazile will be among the featured speakers when the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO, convenes its largest International Convention June 21-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Brazile will address the convention at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22. Brazile, a popular CNN commentator, is the National Chair of the Democratic National Committee's Voting Rights Institute and is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University.

Prior to Brazile's remarks, AFSCME Secretary-Treasurer William Lucy will address the Convention at 10:00 a.m. Other speakers for the day include California State Senate Pro Tem President John Burton at 9:30 a.m. and United Food and Commercial Workers President Joe Hansen at 11:30 a.m. Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry will address the convention at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 24. Under the auspices of the AFL-CIO, more than 30,000 members will join AFSCME's largest convention ever to watch Senator Kerry's address via live satellite and webcast. Union members in 18 cities in battleground states will hold events with special guests to hear directly from the Senator about his plans to take back America for working families.
