Statement of AFSCME President Gerald W. McEntee Regarding the Release of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act

“Senator Reid and other members of the Senate leadership have worked hard to produce a bill that will bring us closer to the goal of health care reform.  Now we will work to improve the bill.  AFSCME continues to support health care reform that includes a robust public option, an effective employer mandate, and no taxes on middle class health plans.  The American people expect the Senate to do its part to make quality, affordable health care a reality for all.”
