AFSCME’s Saunders: “Congress Should Follow the Will of the Voters”
Washington, DC —AFSCME Pres. Lee Saunders issued the following statement after Congressman Tim Walz filed a petition to bring the Senate-passed middle class tax cut legislation to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote:
“On Election Day the American people were very clear. They want Congress to protect middle class programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, give middle class families a tax cut, and make the super-rich finally pay their fair share. Congress should follow the will of the voters.”
