Road Show! Billboards Tell the CO Story

Council 82 took its public relations campaign to the highways this year, with giant billboards featuring the faces and uniforms of state correctional officers. Posted on interstate highways near Albany and Buffalo, the first set of billboards showed four uniformed COs. The next month, another set featured the same members dressed to reflect their roles in the community: Little League coaches, emergency medical technicians, volunteer firefighters, Red Cross volunteers.

Council 82 reports very positive response. It is looking for other advertising vehicles now, including posters on trains.
