New York Mayor-Elect Michael Bloomberg sought a meeting with DC 37 leaders in Manhattan only two days after his election. The city’s unions, he declared, "will always have access to me. They may not get the answer they want, but I’m a believer in dialoguing. They can expect to have a mayor who fundamentally is their champion." The proof of that pudding is of course in the eating.
