Union Scholars
AFSCME has launched an innovative joint project with the United Negro College Fund to involve students in the labor movement. The AFSCME/UNCF Union Scholars Program makes it possible for students to gain experience in the labor movement and earn money for college at the same time. They work on the front lines of union organizing campaigns. Those who complete the field program are eligible for scholarships and jobs with AFSCME. For the 2005 scholarship award, the application deadline is Feb. 28, 2005. To learn more, visit the UNCF web site and click on "Internships," or contact Philip Allen at (202) 429-1025.
