Lucy, Perreira Named To Labor Posts

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Sec.-Treas. William Lucy has been named to the 12-member Board of Trustees of the Solidarity Center, an AFL-CIO allied organization. The Solidarity Center promotes global organizing, get-out-the-vote drives, women's leadership, corporate accountability and other programs aimed at empowering workers. With headquarters in Washington and offices in 30 countries, the center has forged important relationships with U.S. and international unions as well as community-based organizations.

Randy Perreira, deputy executive director of Hawaii Government Employees Association/AFSCME Local 152, has been elected president of Hawaii's State AFL-CIO. Perreira, who has been with the HGEA for 22 years, served several terms as vice president of the union umbrella group.
