John A. Lyall, president of Council 8, has been elected an International vice president (IVP), joining AFSCME’s 32-member executive board.
A Cleveland native, Lyall was elected council president by acclamation last September, following the retirement of Patricia Moss, who had served as an IVP since March 2001.
“Ohio will be a major contributor to developing solutions for vital issues like the health care crisis and the attack on public pensions,” says Lyall. “And we will continue as a solid member of the AFSCME team working with the national union on critical issues.”
