Dawn To Dusk, East to West, A Day in the Life of AFSCME
Our members do a stunning assortment of jobs. They do them with skill, dedication and, when necessary, courage. In this issue, Public Employee celebrates both the members and the work they perform. We’ve picked 16 examples of that work — from library clerking to railroad conducting to bear monitoring and even tiger feeding (no, not tiger taming). We have also featured stories on members who are involved in AFSCME’s bedrock activities: organizing, political action, combating privatization and promoting fiscal integrity. Read about your brothers and sisters at work on a typical day in the life of the union — and enjoy.
