Rodriguez to IVP

"Mobilizing our members," is a goal to which newly elected International Vice Pres. Eddie Rodriguez has committed himself since he became a shop steward 27 years ago. "I believe in getting members involved."

Rodriguez has been serving as president of 1549 (DC 37) since 2000. During his tenure, he has fought to save jobs, protect members' rights, ensure workplace safety and promote "civilianization" in New York City's police force.

He began his civil service career at age 19, working as a clerk in the city's Department of Social Services.
