AFSCME Professional Workers

AFSCME truly represents a cross-section of American workers. In the last issue of Public Employee we highlighted a few of the professionals in our membership. Over the years, this magazine has covered doctors and lawyers and nurses and chaplains and zookeepers and scientists and engineers and psychologists and librarians—all kinds of so-called "white-collar" or professional workers. This issue explores another diverse group, from the engineer responsible for a multi-million dollar water/sewage pipe replacement project to the librarian who finds answers to all kinds of questions from citizens, to the nurse who takes care of patients in and out of surgery.
