Clark Memorial Scholarship Deadline is July 1

The Jerry Clark Memorial Scholarship program will once again provide a $10,000 award to an AFSCME family student majoring in political science. Named after AFSCME's late political action director, Jerry Clark, the award will be announced by August 1.

Deadline for application this year is July 1. All students who apply by the deadline and who meet the following requirements will be considered. The applicant must be a child of an AFSCME member, be a college sophomore with a grade point average of 3.0 or above, and be a political science major. The winner will be selected by lottery at a special meeting of the AFSCME Scholarship Committee.

The chosen sudent will be given an opportunity to intern at AFSCME International headquarters in the Political Action Department during the summer between his or her junior and senior year or for one semester during his or her junior or senior year.
