Disability Award Nominations

By

AFSCME and the National Organization on Disability are again sponsoring awards for councils and locals that put forth activities and efforts to improve the lives of AFSCME members with disabilities, both in and out of the workplace. Two $500 prizes will be awarded in 1996. Winners for 1995 and 1996 will be recognized at the International Convention to be held in Chicago in June.

Councils and locals can nominate themselves by writing to the AFSCME Department of Research and Collective Bargaining Services at 1625 L St. NW, Washington DC 20036-5687. Materials should describe what activities the council or local has done in the past year and must be postmarked by May 15, 1996. All nominations should be accompanied by a cover letter from the council/local president or director and be addressed to Kerry Korpi, director of the department. For more details, contact the AFSCME Department of Research and Collective Bargaining Services at (202) 429-1215.
