1997 Summer Schools for Union Women
Union women -- from newcomers to local presidents to International staff -- are invited to the 1997 Regional Summer Schools for Union Women, sponsored by the University and College Labor Education Association, and the AFL-CIO Department of Education.
These weeklong, residential schools will give trade union women across the country a chance to network, build their skills and learn about critical issues.
Many AFSCME councils and locals have sponsored members' attendance in the past. The $375-$500 fee covers everything except transportation. Scholarships are also available through individual schools.
For general information, contact AFSCME Women's Rights Department at 1625 L St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-5687 or (202) 429-5090. For further information about individual schools and costs, please contact the listed coordinator in your area.
