African-American union members are invited to join the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists in New Orleans, May 21-26, as the 10,000-member organization convenes in the Crescent City.

New Orleans, a city known for its unique contributions to the history and culture of the United States, will play host to the 26th annual convention of the CBTU, an organization which celebrates the contributions of African Americans to labor.

The event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency and the Superdome, will focus on fighting for social and economic justice in the workplace through a busy schedule of workshops, training sessions and panel discussions.

William Lucy, secretary-treasurer of AFSCME International, serves as president of CBTU and is a principal speaker and conference leader. To participate, contact Wil Duncan at AFSCME (202) 429-1203. The deadline for registration is Monday, May 19.
