1998 Presidential Classroom for Young Americans
The children of 15 AFSCME members won awards to visit Washington, D.C., from AFSCME and the Presidential Classroom for Young Americans program. The high school students, from as far away as California, were brought to the nation’s capital to learn firsthand about "Business, Labor and Public Policy."
AFSCME Pres. Gerald W. McEntee met with the 350 Presidential Classroom students during their March visit, telling them, "You are one of the best hopes our country has for the future."
