Applications Open for Clark Scholarship
The Jerry Clark Memorial Scholarship honors AFSCME’s late, revered political action director. Clark was deeply committed to progressive social and economic ideals.
The scholarship is awarded annually to one student who is currently a sophomore majoring in political science. The winner is chosen by a drawing from all applicants who meet the eligibility requirements. The winner will receive $10,000 per year for his or her junior and senior years of study along with an opportunity to intern with AFSCME International’s Political Action Department.
Requirements
The student must be a child or financially dependent grandchild of an AFSCME member.
- The student must have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better.
- The student must be in his/her sophomore year of study.
- The student must be a political science major at an accredited college or university.
Applications for the 2000 scholarship must be postmarked NO LATER THAN JULY 1, 2000. The winner will be announced by Aug. 1.
