CSEA President and Team Re-Elected
Danny Donohue, president of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA)/AFSCME Local 1000 in Albany, N.Y., was elected to a third term as head of the 265,000-member union.
Donohue’s “Four for the Future” slate also won re-election. They are Exec. Vice Pres. Mary Sullivan, Sec. Barbara Reeves and Treas. Maureen Malone. Sullivan is also an International vice president.
First elected CSEA president in 1994, Donohue, 55, served as executive vice president before that (1988-1994). The self-described “truck driver from Brooklyn” began his career as a state employee at the Central Islip Psychiatric Center where he won a write-in election campaign for local president in 1975. He also is an International vice president of AFSCME, and a vice president of the New York state AFL-CIO.
