Disability Awards

Each year, AFSCME and the National Organization on Disability recognize AFSCME affiliates that have contributed to improving the lives of people with disabilities — both inside and outside the workplace. This year, two $500 awards will be presented.

Councils and local unions — not individuals — can be nominated or nominate themselves. Send your nomination to Kerry Korpi, Director, AFSCME Department of Research and Collective Bargaining Services, 1625 L Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-5687. Nominations should include a cover letter from the affiliate’s president or director.

Please enclose information about the council or local’s specific activities and the impact they have had on the lives of individuals with disabilities.
