Scholarship Notice
AFSCME’s Department of Education is calling all eligible children of AFSCME members to enter the 1999 Jerry Clark Memorial Scholarship program.
The scholarship honors Jerry Clark who served as AFSCME’s political action director and was deeply committed to progressive social and economic ideals.
One college sophomore majoring in political science will be awarded $10,000 per year for his/her junior and senior years and will have an opportunity to intern with the International’s Political Action Department.
Applicants must:
- be a child or financially dependent grandchild of an AFSCME member;
- have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or better;
- be a political science major at an accredited college or university.

Completed applications for the 1999 scholarship must be postmarked NO LATER THAN JULY 1, 1999. The winner will be announced by AUG. 1, 1999.
