Helping Those With Disabilities

AFSCME and the National Organization on Disability are again recognizing councils and local unions that work to improve the lives of AFSCME members with disabilities — whether within or outside the workplace. Two $500 prizes will be awarded this year at the International Convention in Philadelphia.

Only councils and locals are eligible. They can send nominations — of themselves or others — to Kerry Korpi, Director, AFSCME Department of Research and Collective Bargaining Services, 1625 L St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036-5687. Nominating materials should describe the affiliate’s activities during the past year and must be postmarked by May 30, 2000.
