Jasmine Trias, 17, of Mililani, Hawaii, competed in May as one of five finalists of Fox Broadcasting Co.'s top-rated TV show, "American Idol." She is the daughter of Nora Soriano-Trias, a registered nurse at Maluhia Hospital in Honolulu and a member of the Hawaii Government Employees Association/ AFSCME Local 152. The winner — not decided as Public Employee went to press — gets a record deal and representation by a management company.
