Training to Leave No Child Behind

By

NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT

To help public school paraprofessionals meet testing requirements under the No Child Left Behind law, Connecticut Council 4 once again offered a customized training program for its members. For six weeks beginning April 25, sessions were held in Killingly, Manchester, New Britain and Plainfield. The council hired experienced middle school teachers across the state to provide instruction. Attendance was high, with an average of 30 people in each class.

Arranged by Council 4 every year, "these sessions provide valuable training opportunities and they definitely help us to prepare properly," says Carla Fontanez of Local 1522, a paraprofessional in the Bridgeport school system.
