Let's Give Job Cuts a Red Light
It's scary to think that a decision made miles away in Washington, D.C., could cost someone a job. And that someone could be you.
Right now officials in Washington are discussing three issues that could put an end to thousands of good union jobs.
- Stop Privatization. If Washington allows defense contractors to take over public responsibilities, the first thing they will do is cut jobs.
- Stop Exploitation of Workfare Workers. If Washington allows workfare participants to work for lower wages and fewer benefits, the wages, benefits and jobs of all workers could be cut.
- Stop Fast Track. If Washington allows the President to negotiate foreign trade deals without labor protections, the first thing that goes overseas will be our jobs.
Contact your Representative today. Tell him or her that you oppose H.R. 1709 and similar privatization efforts. You support labor rights and protections for welfare workers. You oppose "Fast Track" legislation.
