Solidarity Across Borders

When Public Services International (PSI) General Sec. Hans Engelberts addressed the Convention, he brought with him fraternal greetings from the 514 PSI member organizations representing more than 20 million members worldwide.

“Over the years AFSCME has been one of our strongest contributors in developing the skills of free and independent unions around the world,” said Engelberts. He reported on problems with a global economy that produces “wealth and dividends for some but poverty and insecurity for many others. PSI is campaigning for a workers’ rights clause in all trade agreements,” he stated.
