Gore Wins Endorsement

AFSCME councils and local unions are getting the jump on Campaign 2000. A number have already decided who should be the next president of the United States: Vice Pres. Al Gore. At presstime, the following affiliates had endorsed Gore: Alaska State Employees Association/AFSCME Local 152, California AFSCME (including Councils 36 and 57, Local 1902, Union of American Physicians and Dentists, United Nurses Associations of California, and United Domestic Workers), Colorado Council 76, Iowa Council 61, New York City DC 37, Pennsylvania Council 13, and Washington Council 2. The endorsing affiliates represent over one-quarter million AFSCME members.
