Boston, MA - Cheering and chanting, AFSCME activists roared their approval when International Vice President and Council 93 Exec. Dir. Anthony Caso said that union members are fed up with politicians who abandon workers by opposing the Jobs Bill. “Today, AFSCME makes its mark on Boston Common, and we are ready to fight and ready to lead!” he declared as thousands of delegates to AFSCME’s 39th International Convention, held this summer in Massachusetts, raised fists and waved placards to protest proposed cuts and prevent layoffs of Council 93 members. Added President McEntee: “We can’t let them destroy vital public services! We can’t let them tear down what our hard work has built up!” See Pages 14 – 15 for more photos from Convention.
