Fleet Safety (Internal Links)

By

No one should drive a vehicle that is unsafe or without adequate training. A fleet safety program includes vehicle maintenance and qualified drivers.

Pre-trip and post-trip inspections

Drivers should do a spot check for problems before they drive away. Brakes, lights, tires, horn, wipers, mirrors, coupling devices and other parts should all be in good working order. Problems should be fixed before the vehicle is operated. Drivers should note any problems they had with the vehicle when they return to the yard.
