Conclusion

Remember, trust your instincts and your child’s! If your first reaction to a child care center or family child care home is not positive, forget about enrolling your child there. Once your child is enrolled in child care, make it a point to talk with other parents about the arrangement. Talk to your child about his or her experiences with the caregivers and other children. If your child can’t talk yet, look for clues in his/her behavior. LISTEN TO YOUR CHILD!

If your child is experiencing any difficulty, then explore with your child the reason for these feelings. Also, ask the caregivers for any insights they may have. Communicate regularly with the caregiver about your child and take an active part in the policy-making process. If you develop a respectful partnership with your child’s caregivers, it will allow both of you to work in the best interest of your child.
