The AFSCME Nurse Advisory CommitteeThe AFSCME Nurse Advisory Committee (NAC) provides expertise and recommendations to the union on issues and activities of importance to AFSCME nurses. In addition to being a forum where nurse leaders can network, the meetings are an opportunity to inform AFSCME's officers and staff about their experiences and the concerns of their fellow nurses. The meetings also give International staff a chance to share with committee members the latest on issues that affect nurses. Committee members actively assist with planning and conducting AFSCME's National Nurse Congress, which is held every two years. The committee is composed of registered and licensed practical/vocational nurses from acute care hospitals, nursing homes, public health, corrections and other practice settings. Members are appointed to two-year terms by President McEntee based on recommendations from International vice presidents. The members of the committee as of December 15, 2004 are listed below.
