ConsumerTIMENew Health Savings ProgramOne of the newest members-only benefits offered by AFSCME Advantage is the Union Plus Health Savings program. It can help reduce out-of-pocket expenses on a variety of health care needs. For example, enrollees can save an average of 17 percent on prescription drugs at over 29,000 participating retail pharmacies. The program negotiates volume discounts with an extensive list of service providers all across the country. In addition to drugs, the program offers savings of up to 25 percent on dental services; up to 50 percent on vision care, including frames, glasses and contact lenses; up to 40 percent on foot care; and up to 30 percent on hearing aids and other hearing services. The Health Savings program has two available packages. The Premium Package features all the benefits and services mentioned above, plus discounts on diabetic supplies and access to the plan's Nurse HelpLine. The cost is only $49.95 a year and covers both you and your family. The Standard Package provides the same discounts for you and your family, but does not include the HelpLine. It costs only $14.95 a year. Click here for more information about the Union Plus Health Savings Program. |
