Scholarship Fund

<P align=right>Resolution No: 64<BR>37th Annual International Convention<BR>August 7-11, 2006<BR>Chicago, Illinois<BR></P>
<P>WHEREAS:<BR>AFSCME International member benefits already offers and has existing scholarship funds; and</P>
<P>WHEREAS: <BR>The majority of scholarship funds are for undergraduate studies; and</P>
<P>WHEREAS: <BR>Members and their families are pursuing graduate school education, professional licensing and non-traditional educations; and</P>
<P>WHEREAS: <BR>The costs for graduate school education, professional licensing and non-traditional educations cause hardships to AFSCME members and their families.</P>
<P>THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: <BR>That AFSCME International work with Union Privilege to attempt to expand the scholarship fund through its member benefits program for graduate school education, professional licensing and non-traditional educations and encourage its councils to do the same.<BR>&nbsp;<BR>&nbsp;<BR>SUBMITTED BY:&nbsp;Jackie Jones-Walsh, President and Delegate<BR>Ginger Richardson, Vice President and Delegate<BR>AFSCME Local 843, Council 28<BR>Washington<BR></P>
